Project scope: Development of Concepts to support a feasibility study undertaken by client
Ferrovia has completed Concept Design work to support a passenger fleet extension feasibility study, providing updated interior designs for an Australian client.
This scope involved developing layout options for 5 car types considering DDA and DSAPT legislation, crew and passenger needs, an uplift in customer experience, rollingstock standards and ConOps. The Concept Design scope for passenger facilities included toilets & showers (incl. accessible types), passenger seats that converted to sleeper beds (3 design types), luggage racks and overhead compartments, interior lighting (day and night modes), power, USB, tables, handrails and stability points, dining car seating, tables, service area, and refresh options for existing seating types, materials, finishes and colours.
We delivered 2D car layouts and 20 visualisations to describe the passenger facilities Concept Designs. This project was completed within 8 weeks from client briefing.
