Our team

We have a team of circa 20 resources at hand, including Ferrovia’s leadership team

Ferrovia’s team contains both subject matter experts and experienced all-rounders, which means we cover a broad range of disciplines. For example, we have extensive experience in product design, development, engineering and assurance activities and the know-how to engage with users/stakeholders to bring them along the journey. We can direct and manage your project, or be a part of your delivery team. Competing priorities or requirements? Not a problem, we have transparent methodologies to work through that.

Ferrovia brings products to life and our team are experts in project delivery. We have been working within the industry for decades, holding senior roles on projects since early 2000s.

Our story

Back in 1997, Eddie Farren-Price started his career in product development, engineering and design management at Dyson in UK. Iain Salt was a project engineer for Alstom in UK and Nigel Warne was yet to work out which university had the best bar. Years later, our paths crossed.

In 2007, Eddie began consulting to Downer on the design of Waratah train project, initially passenger seats, then interior design, then mechanical systems management.

Later in 2013, whilst restructuring resources and priorities to accelerate delivery phase of the Waratah train, Eddie met and hired Nigel Warne for a management support role in Body Structures Interiors work package. Nigel’s British Army training was perfectly suited to the role, and it became clear within a couple of weeks that Nigel had enormous capacity to come up to speed and logically process competing technical, commercial, and program issues.

Eddie and Nigel formed a strong working relationship at Downer and have worked alongside ever since. The three of us then worked together at Transport Engineering (later Ricardo Rail Australia) in various engineering/management roles.

Nigel and Eddie joined forces to create Ferrovia in 2021, a company that has the skill sets to deliver project management, project delivery, product development and engineering services under one roof. We have worked on every TfNSW heavy rail project and fleet delivery since Waratah and have now expanded into other rail projects, including Sydney Metro and refurbishment programs. In 2023, Iain joined Ferrovia, bringing decades of engineering management experience and level-headed rigour on board, as well as a dry sense of humour.

Our team know each other well. We have worked alongside each other on projects for years, which means we have tried and tested relationships, capabilities and the knowledge that we all perform well under pressure. We understand our strengths, the roles we will smash, and the jobs we should steer clear of (scopes which mismatch our skills). As our client, we aim to please – as without you, we do not exist. It is a pleasure working with our team, you will receive straight answers to straight questions, and we will not waste your time if we don’t know an answer – more importantly, we will come back to you when we do.
